    The Last Day of School

Today is the last day of school for my kids.  I know a lot of moms who dread this day and the following three months...but not me.  I've never lost that excitement about the last day of school and summer vacation. I'm looking forward to the 2 days a week I can sleep past 7 (my son is in weight training this summer and I have to have him at school by 7 three days a week).  I'm looking forward to going to the lake with the kids, to short road trips (who can afford anything else?), going to the Renaissance Fest, and to having them around in general. I'm even looking forward to playing "taxi mom" for them.  Yes...I am a glutton for punishment .

By the end of the summer, I'm sure I'll be ready for them to go back to school, as will they, but I'll enjoy the time I have with them.  I'm sure by September we'll all need a break!

    Interesting place you got here...

I'm new here, but not new to Xanga.  I didn't know you could register your Xanga with  Momaroo, so I created a separate account.  Oh well...I like this name, so I'll keep it.  It's nice to have a place just for moms.

I guess the first post is as good a place as any to say who I am.  I'm married to my best friend and have 3 kids...two boys and a girl.  My oldest son graduated from high school last year and is in college.  My middle son and youngest daughter are both still in school.  My son is involved in every sport imaginable in high school, as well as a guitar player for a band.  My daughter is finishing her first year of middle school and is also involved in band (she plays piano and clarinet) and sports.   They both have a lot of school spirit, which is amazing to me, since I was the anti-school kid growing up.  I was a punk rocker, rebelled against everything, did all the things a kid shouldn't do, and still survived to tell the tale.  My mother always said my children would rebel by being preppy...she was right.  It's OK though...they have great taste in music, so it's all good.

That's about it for now.  I hope this momaroo thing takes off...it's a pretty cool idea.

    Peace
